How can I pass a cell phone through a metal detector?
My school doesn't allow cell phones but I need it to communicate with my family whenever I have plans and such. Is there anyway or tricks I can use to not set the metal detector off?
Now i have gotten many responses about how I should be able to live without my phohe thingne....and I have. The thing I have a little brother with a disablility and I need to be able to be contacted if anything goes wrong with him since I am the only person available after 2oclock(after school when the office is no longer open or when Im no longer within the building). So please don't answer with the whole "your being a stupid teenager" crap .
First off you don't need a phone, if it is important you can use a phone at the office.
However technically here is the scoop.
There are two variables that you must deal with.
The first if the sensitivity of the metal detector, it can be set to be very sensitive or very lax. These settings can also change over time due to drift or when someone recalibrates the machine. These are things you can't impact or have a constant knowledge of.
The second variable is the amount of detectable metal in any given phone. The only way to determine this is to gather many different phones and test them in the same metal detector.
The bottom line is that this is going to take a lot of work and even after its all done the detector can change and possibly still catch you. Its not worth the hassle.
